Hatchtop Studio
Your notch, your way.
Studio is where you set it up: which modules, in what order, the accent, the panel size, the shortcut. The preview updates live. Try it here.

For developers
Your scripts get a banner too.
One request to localhost and a banner drops out of the notch. End a build, a deploy or a test run with it.
- POST /notify
- Needs the X-Hatchtop header (any value). Port 47823, changeable in Studio.
- title
- The banner's first line. Plain text works too: the whole body becomes the title.
- message
- The second line. body and subtitle are accepted as well.
- source
- claude, codex, github, terminal… sets the default icon and color.
- accent, symbol
- A color role (good, warning, critical…) and an SF Symbol name.
- url
- Opened when you click the event in AI Agents.
curl -s -H 'X-Hatchtop: 1' \
-d '{"title":"Build done","message":"42 tests passed"}' \

On this page the banner is a preview. In the app, the same request comes from your own scripts. The API only listens on 127.0.0.1.

In use
What people notice first.
“I stopped opening Music and Calendar. The next meeting and the song are just there, above the screen I'm already in.”
“The useful part is the permission banner. Claude asks, I allow or deny, and I never go hunting for the terminal.”
“AirPods connect, the timer stays visible, a call can be picked up from the notch. It feels like the menu bar finally grew up.”
“Quotas before I hit the wall, and a scratchpad that is always one hover away. I bought it the afternoon I installed the beta.”

FAQ
Questions, answered.
What do I need to run it?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Each module asks only for what it uses, the first time: Spotify or Music control, Calendar and Reminders, the camera, Bluetooth. Pull requests use the GitHub CLI: install gh and run gh auth login. Calls need Accessibility, which you grant. Messages needs Full Disk Access to read new messages and reply, or Accessibility to show them without a reply. Without those, calls and messages stay quiet.
Does it work on a Mac without a notch, or on an external display?
Yes. On screens without a notch, a virtual notch takes its place. In Studio you pick the screen with a notch or the main screen, or put a notch on every screen. A small menu bar icon is there too, and you can hide it.
Which AI tools does it work with?
Claude Code and ChatGPT (Codex) for live activity, finished replies and permission approvals, through hooks Studio installs and removes for you. For usage: Claude Code tokens and API-equivalent cost from local logs, Claude subscription limits if you turn them on, the Codex plan quota, and Cursor's monthly plan if you turn it on. Anything else can be a custom source: a shell command that prints JSON.
Is the dollar figure what I pay?
No. It's the API-equivalent cost of your Claude Code usage, computed with public API prices. On Pro or Max it isn't your bill, but it shows the order of magnitude of what you use.
Does my data leave my Mac?
There's no Hatchtop account and no Hatchtop server. The only network requests go to GitHub through gh, to Anthropic and Cursor if you turn on their limits, to Open-Meteo for the weather, to the calendar links you add, and to Spotify for album artwork. Clipboard history stays in memory. New messages are read on this Mac only: from the Messages database if you grant Full Disk Access, otherwise from the notification banner if you grant Accessibility. Replies go through the Messages app. Sender names come from Contacts if you allow it. Calls are read from the notification banner, and only if you grant Accessibility. The local API only listens on 127.0.0.1.
Are updates included?
Yes. One payment, and updates are included at no extra cost. When a new version is out, you get a download link by email.
How do I install it after buying?
After payment, you get a download link by email. Open the file, drag Hatchtop into Applications and launch it. There's no account to create, and each module asks for its permissions the first time you use it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You have 14 days from your purchase to ask for a full refund, with no need to give a reason. Just write to contact.hiko1@gmail.com.
How long does launch pricing last?
Until December 31, 2026. After that, the regular price is the price.
